This summer was different and I tackled some new things. First, and sadly, I moved out of my studio of 5 years that I shared with a good friend and fellow artist:( But I also tried something new that made me feel like I was learning new artistic techniques and getting new inspiration. I took a sculpture class at PAFA, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, in Center City Philadelphia.
For five weeks, one full day a week, I worked on two different clay figure sculptures from a model. The process was challenging and eye-opening to say the least, and I did not perfect anything! But I did learn a lot and am confident that the next time around would go a little smoother. It is an ongoing process! Here's some pics of the sculptures finished but not yet fired.
